Cochamó is located at the top of the northernmost fiord in Patagonia and is a quaint litle fishing village. It´s primary industry is fishing and tourism is a by-line, so it´s not yet spoiled and doesn´t pamper to tourist needs. There are some very fine seafood restaurants. In the fiord are salmon farms and mussel plantations.
There is some good walking up the Cochamó valley to spectacular granite cliffs, waterfalls and a 5 day trek to Argentina. Guided horserides is the new black here, and they turn the track to knee deep mud.
