Cafayate, Salta, Argentina (far NW)

This is more my sort of town. Lots of bicylces. It`s still touristy, but laid back enough that they allow me to perservere with my spanish instead of switching to english. Its lovely church is the highest and most highly revered building in town, located on the pretty plaza, surrounded by outdoor cafes and parrillada restaurants. There are wineries within and surrounding the town, producing some very excellent full-bodied reds. And it`s set in a broad valley between huge Andean mountain ranges with many walks and bike rides within easy reach.
