At the red traffic signals, a car screeched to a halt on the crosswalk in front of the local bus alongside mine. Three blokes got out, one with his metal steering lock, forced there way onto the bus and bashed up one of the passengers. The Police were there within a minute. The signals changed to green and my bus took off.

Lima has lived up to my expectations. It is huge, full of traffic, and you have to watch yourself. The museums are excellent. Miraflores is the posh area on the beach and where most foreigners lodge themselves in surroundings as safe and familiar as home. It´s not the real Perú, but it does me fine if I have to go to Lima.
