A lovely little white-washed town with a huge history. This was a major port and the centre of Columbus' preparations and departure the wrong way around the world. The tsunami from the 1755 Lisbon earthquake silted up the Rio Tinto, but there's a wharf with replicas of the three ships which are oustanding in their field.
