A quaint little port town located, as one might guess, at the mouth of the river Yar, complete with swing bridge, cobbled streets and a variety of cosy pubs, all set amongst pretty rolling green hills, forests and tidal estuaries. All the Isle of Wight rivers are out of proportion (too deep and broad for their length), a leftover from the last ice age when they all flowed much longer distances into what was then the Solent River, It all makes for great sailing destinations.
