Fläm, Central Fjords, Norway

Fläm is spelt with an o overhanging the a. It is THE place: at the end of a pretty fjord and the transfer station between the scenic ferry from Gudvangen and the Flamsbana railway that twists 1000m up past huge waterfalls to Myrdal above. There's also a great walk nearby down one of the wild rivers that tumbles down through gorges from the plateau: Osterbo to Vassbyjdi. There's a reason why the waterfalls, lakes and forests are so pretty: it rains a lot.
