An international circuit surf break. With my broken french just good enough to ask directions , I learnt that to get to Teahupoo, you need to change buses just before Taravao and get the bus to Chopoo, which is apprently not far away, but not shown on my map. Later I learnt that the people are friendly enough here that when you ask how to get to Teahupoo, they try and teach you to pronounce it correctly! It´s a pretty little spot with good walking along the coast, and Tahiti´s little sister island is much less built up and developed. The surf break is a long way offshore.
