Norwegian money

Norway's krone is perfect backpacker's money, as it's got a hole drilled through the middle to keep the weight down.

A krone is only worth about 20 cents and doesn't buy you anything except the deposit on the can when you buy a beer at the supermarket - the deposit from 24 empty beer cans is enough to buy a full can in return. Ten krones buys you entry into a public toilet. 20 krones buys you a stand-up coffee in a service station, although it could trigger the need to spend another ten.
